The lenses darken automatically when exposed to direct sunlight and turn clear indoors or at night. The lenses will not darken to the level of standard tinted lenses. Instead, they will darken to a medium to dark gray providing protection from direct sunlight, but light enough so that you are not "night blinded" when entering into a dark room or building during the day. No more swapping lenses. No more suffering in direct sunlight with clear lenses during house-to-house clearing operations. The perfect solution available only from the wizards at Wiley X. Note: If you intend to use this product for driving and prefer tinted lenses, we do not recommend this or any light-adjusting (Photogray or Transitional Lenses) for driving. Vehicle windows block UV rays which activate the darkening process. Stray UV in a vehicle will cause the lenses to darken slightly, but it may be insufficient if you prefer more traditional lens tints while driving. We recommend regular tinted lenses for in those cases where drivers prefer a darker tint. The light-adjusting properties of these lenses are outstanding for motorcyclists or open air buggy drivers who are exposed to sunlight. However, if you wear this product under a motorcycle face shield, UV rays will be blocked by the shield and only stray UV will cause the lenses to darken slightly. Comes complete with frame, strap, temples and soft polishing cloth with zip-close case with belt loop. As with all SG-1 models you can, if you so choose, swap lenses in and out of the frame. This is important down the road if you want to add lenses or replace your Light Adjusting lenses due to damage.
