We took this shot of our new M1030 Gun Metal version of our wildly popular M1030 series so the frame color would not wash out, yet retain the mirroring of the lens. Unfortunately, one of the toughest things to do is get a good clean picture of gun metal and mirroring together so both are accurately depicted. In this case we did a pretty good job of getting the gun metal frame, but because it was low light, the mirroring doesn't show up as well as it would in a full daylight picture. But, you can be assured the mirroring on the gun metal M1030 is a full multiple layer silver oxide mirroring that looks absolutely hot.

We sell just a ton of the M1030 mirrored model. It is by far the number one selling aviator we carry. The mirrored look has come back very strongly this year and we think our M1030 is one of the best bargains out there. Hand polished silver-nickel frames give a sharp high-end finished look and the mirroring is multiple layers of silver-oxide for a very rich high reflection. Mirroring helps reflect glare to keep your eyes from tiring in bright sunlight. Mirroring also help to greatly reduce scratches to your lenses. They also provide full UV400 ultra-violet ray protection. The temple arms are the traditional wire style made famous by Ray Ban many years ago.

The underlying tint is a dark neutral slate gray that allows less than 20% light transmission which is the recommended level for private, military and commercial pilots. And, it will not distort colors.

The lenses are produced from shatter-resistant polycarbonate, the same material and thickness (2.1 mm) used on our ballistic combat goggles. These make great shooting glasses or sports glasses where maximum shatter-resistant protection is needed. These are first rate quality lenses, not the cheap thin lenses that pop out of the frame when you sneeze. These lenses are so secure, that trying to pop them out of the frame is difficult, and in all probability, you'll damage the frames before you manage to get them out. That's how good of a frame/lens fit we have achieved with this model. You won't find that kind of quality in another aviator at twoice the price.

Like we said, we sell just a ton of this model and we can count on one hand the number of returns because customers didn't like them. They are very well designed with just the correct lens size and shape. This is a traditional size lens. Each lens runs top to bottom at about 2 1/8" high, and from left to right at the widest point about 2 1/2" wide. Our M1030 is traditionally sized, not oversized and not the mini-type aviator. They look great.
